Summer is finally here and now it is time to treat your furry friend to homemade ice cream! What is better than cooling your friend down with a popsicle in the heat? ☀️
Dog popsicles with petgood
Dogs should not eat ice cream or popsicles with too much sugar or lactose, but there are ways to still enjoy suitable popsicles made for them! Popsicles are a good way for your dog to cool down during the summer and a fun bit of enrichment. Here is a recipe for nutritious, cooling and tasty dog popsicles!
Dog popsicle recipe:
This is what you need:
- Popsicle molds
- Petgood dental sticks
- Petgood dog food
- Other treats (for example peas, apple pieces or grated carrot)
- Water
Here is how you do it:
- Fill the popsicle molds with water and petgood's complete food (for puppies or adult dogs). If you want it more dissolved in the water, you can soak the kibble a little first.
- If you want, you can also add extra fruit and vegetables to the molds, whatever your dog loves! 🍅🥬🍉🌽
- Stick a dental stick into the mixture to use as a "handle".
- Put it in the freezer overnight.
- Ready to serve on a warm summer day!
Since it is a popsicle, your dog needs to lick it, which gives your dog a calming experience. On top of that, your dog gets some extra fluids. A popsicle is perfect during long car trips to calm a dog that is a little anxious, or just bored. Or bring it to the beach or on a hike!
The popsicle can be given to both adult dogs and puppies (just adjust the food you use).
