Nutrition for energy and health
We use the larvae of the black soldier fly as our only animal ingredient - a true nutritional powerhouse. The larvae are packed with easily digestible protein for muscle building and performance, healthy fatty acids that support skin, coat and brain function, and they are gentle on the stomach and help keep the gut flora in balance.
Rich in protein, fat, vitamins & minerals
The larvae contain plenty of the nutrients that dogs and cats need - high in protein, with healthy fats and essential vitamins and minerals.
The high-quality protein
Thanks to a rich amino acid profile and high digestibility, our insect protein is a high-quality protein source. Our foods have full and complete amino acid profiles. The digestibility of insect protein from the black soldier fly is high, 85-90 % (good digestibility is considered to be above 80 %).
Fats with health benefits
The insect fat is rich in lauric acid with proven antioxidant activity, which can support brain health. All complete foods have an optimal omega-3/omega-6 ratio (1:4.75) for a healthy skin barrier and coat quality.
Essential vitamins & minerals
The larvae are rich in calcium, potassium, iron and zinc, as well as B vitamins that support metabolism and digestion.
Supports gut health
Insect protein is a novel protein source and can suit dogs and cats with dietary sensitivities or food allergies. Dietary fibre contributes to normal bowel movements, and new research shows potential to increase the presence of good gut bacteria.
How we develop our recipes
We follow the latest scientific findings. All products are developed by our own veterinary team together with small animal nutritionists. The foods are complete and balanced and follow the nutritional recommendations of FEDIAF and NRC.

Exclusively the larvae of the black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens).
Where do the larvae come from?
From Protix in the Netherlands, one of the world's leading insect farms, specialised in the black soldier fly and powered by 100 % renewable energy. Its EU location provides transparency and quality control.
What do the larvae eat?
High-quality plant-based by-products - grain, fruit and vegetable residues from local producers. This is how we make use of resources and reduce food waste.
How do the larvae live?
In a vertical farming system in a bedding material similar to nature, where they can express natural behaviours. Sensory technology keeps the environment ideal.
Are antibiotics used?
No. The larvae are naturally resilient and antibiotics are never used.
How do the larvae's lives end?
Sustainability as a bonus
Dogs and cats today account for 25 % of all meat consumption. Insects are an extremely resource-efficient protein source compared with other animal sources.
Traceability
We are open about our supplier - the insect farm Protix in the Netherlands - and all plant-based ingredients are traceable and come from the EU.
Carbon emissions
Traditional protein sources account for large greenhouse gas emissions. A study from Finland shows that insects instead of traditional protein sources can reduce environmental impact by up to 80 %.
Land use and biodiversity
More than 80 % of agricultural land is used for meat and dairy production. 20 tonnes of insects can be raised on the area of a tennis court, and our insect farm can produce 10,000 tonnes of protein per hectare per year.
Feed and food production
Our insects live on plant-based food residues and turn food waste into high-quality protein - circular and resource-efficient.
Animal welfare
Antibiotics and growth hormones are never used in the rearing. The larvae are kept in a natural environment and harvested gently.
