Choc Ice Cockers
English cocker spaniel
Meet Henrik and the kennel Choc Ice, who breed English cocker spaniels. The kennel has been active since 1999 and is located in Borensberg by the Göta canal. For Henrik, the dogs are family members, and it is just as important that they enjoy being around other people as around other dogs. That is why everyday obedience is a natural part of their life. Giving the dogs a nutritious and functional food is another important piece of the puzzle, and Henrik did thorough research before deciding to try Petgood's dog food. The dogs took to it right away, and for Henrik the climate perspective became a lovely bonus.
Kennel Choc Ice is one of the active kennels in Petgood's breeder programme and breeds English cocker spaniels. Henrik has long experience of the breed, with cocker spaniels since 1995, his own kennel four years later and his first own litter in 2003.
"I fell for the breed because it is a happy and kind dog that loves everything and everyone. Over the years I have learned a lot about the breed and put a lot of focus in my breeding on the mental traits. They should be healthy, pleasant and cooperative dogs that will bring great joy to their new family for 10-15 years."
Right now the kennel consists of four lovely females, and a new litter is planned on one of them. The kennel is small-scale and in a family environment, where each dog gets its own time and chance to bond with Henrik and the family.
"My dogs are our family members just as much as a pack and should work with both people and dogs. They are trained in everyday obedience and know the rules that apply so that both people and dogs thrive in the family. We also go to many shows with them."
For Henrik, the climate impact of the food was an important point when it comes to feeding the dogs.
"I am picky about it being good food for my dogs, so I wanted to read up properly first and see proof that it is a nutritious and functional dog food. After reading about insects as a protein source I felt confident to try it, and I am very happy with the food. The dogs like it, it works well and the climate aspect feels like a big bonus. I have a dog that, according to the previous owner, was picky and unwilling to eat - even that dog eats the food with a very good appetite!"
